The game the nation is playing, every teenager knows about it, and it’s every gamers dream. Call of Duty. It doesn’t matter which one you’re talking about they are all equally addicting.
Believe it or not, Call of Duty is shaping the world today. It has been making an impact for the past seven to eight years. More violence and aggression is arousing, kids are now interested in real guns, and the rate of obesity is sky rocketing.
First of all the rate of violence is going up, because people find it cool to shoot people. This is because in the game, once you kill someone eventually they can come back to life. Well in real life, when you shoot someone in the head or heart they will most likely die and not come back to life. This is what some kids don’t realize, once you kill someone their gone for good. Kids also know way too much about guns now a days. For example my brother asked for bb guns for Christmas, he knew all about the guns and how they were powered. Now that kids know all about guns, they can go around using guns for the wrong reasons. Research has also showed that since Call of Duty has been released more people are aggressive. In the article following this article a doctor by the name of Dr. Rich answered a question from a parent asking what could happen if their child received Call of Duty. He mentioned that the child’s sense of right and wrong would be off and they would see the world as a meaner place. As a child I saw the world as a big happy place and nothing was better than that, but once you see the world how it really is, and how cruel people are, your views of everything changes.
Next, the rate of obesity is going to sky rocket because people aren’t getting as much exercise as they need. People sit on the sofa all day eating and play call of duty, when they could be walking their dog or going to the gym. Call of Duty can be really addicting, to a point where you don’t want to stop playing. A lot of people play and don’t even realize that a whole day has gone by. I myself have played for over 12 hours and didn’t even realize it. If this generation doesn’t take a step back every once in a while and just go walk around your neighborhood once in a while, most of the nation is going to be obese.
As you can see, Call of Duty is really affecting the world today, people may it not realize it, but in a few years everyone will realize what a change Call of Duty has made.
